Nottingham team strengthened with new Planning Manager
18 December 2023
Our Nottingham team has strengthened its planning function with the appointment of a new team member.
Robbie Steel joins Nottingham as Planning Manager, compiling high-quality planning submissions and liaising with stakeholders to ensure that we create high-quality homes across the region.
Prior to joining Persimmon, Robbie completed a Master’s in Town and Regional Planning at the University of Sheffield. After graduating, Robbie joined Ashfield District Council in 2015 as a Planning Officer, working his way up to Major Projects Officer within the authority before moving on to Mansfield District Council in 2021 as Major Projects and Growth Team Leader.
Here, Robbie worked on planning applications for strategic urban extensions; as well as the Towns Fund projects including the Warsop Health Hub and West Notts College Technology Centre.
Commenting on his appointment, Robbie said:
“I’m delighted to join the Persimmon Homes Nottingham team and I’m looking forward to playing my part in ensuring quality homes and communities are created by us.
After many years in Local Government, this is my first role in the Private Sector, and I am very much looking forward to all the different challenges that entails. Persimmon already feels like a great company to work for, especially with its commitment towards sustainable development and quality placemaking.”
Carl Oxley, Land Director at Persimmon Homes Nottingham, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome Robbie to the team. His skills and experience will be a real asset to the Nottingham team and the overall business.
“Providing homes and infrastructure of outstanding quality is integral to what we do at Persimmon, and having Robbie on board to support the planning team will help to ensure that we continue to deliver the highest standards for customers, communities and stakeholders.”
