A Cornish charity who helps disadvantaged young people is set to receive a welcome fundraising boost thanks to Persimmon Homes South West. The region chose YMCA Cornwall as it’s official charity partner in 2013 following the support it provided to the charity in 2012 during Persimmon’s 40th anniversary competition.
YMCA Cornwall serves the local community to help young people make a new start, manage on their own and build a new future out in the world when they have nowhere else to turn.
David Hall-Davies, chief executive of YMCA Cornwall, said: “We are so thankful to Persimmon Homes for selecting us as their chosen charity. Any money raised for our charity would make such a tremendous difference as it will help us to continue our work in supporting young people.”
Simon Perks, managing director of Persimmon Homes South West, said: “Having worked with the YMCA Cornwall throughout 2012 we quickly realised what fantastic work this charity does for the young people of Cornwall. We are only too pleased to continue this support and to raise much-needed funds through a programme of activities across the year.”
