Persimmon Homes Midlands has pitched in to support a major sporting project in Towcester.
Persimmon Homes, which has a major development on London Road in the town, has donated £1,000 towards the Towcestrians Sports Club’s appeal to expand opportunities for local people.
The club – which runs rugby, cricket, hockey, tennis, netball and softball teams – seeks to provide a comprehensive upgrade to sports facilities for the town.
Claire Dearsley, head of sales at Persimmon Homes Midlands, said: “Local sports teams form a vital part of community life, so we are delighted to be able to support Towcestrians.”
“Their plans will not only improve facilities for their existing teams, but also create new opportunities for the general public, helping to encourage more physical activity and healthy lifestyles in the town.”
The development project includes plans for four full size rugby pitches, floodlights, relocated and upgraded cricket pitches and nets, hockey pitch, tennis courts, a multi-use sports hall, outdoor gym trim trail with jogging track, a cricket pavilion with changing rooms, function room and grandstand and car parking.
The ambitious project is supported by South Northamptonshire Council, the London Marathon Charitable Trust and the governing bodies of all the sports provided by Towcestrians. Anyone interested in supporting the plans can find out more at www.towcestrians.co.uk
Persimmon Homes Midlands also offers funding support to local good causes through its Community Champions scheme, which see two donations of up to £1,000 made every month to charities, voluntary groups or clubs in the area.
