Persimmon Homes pledges charity support to hospice
25 June 2018
Persimmon Homes is embarking on a new fundraising drive to help a regional hospice charity.
Persimmon Homes Lancashire selected St Catherine’s Hospice, Preston, as its 2018 nominated charity and will raise money throughout the year through employee events.
John Roocroft, managing director of Persimmon Homes Lancashire, said: “We have pledged to make St Catherine’s Hospice the focus of our corporate and employee fundraising throughout 2018, and are already planning plenty of sponsored events and activities.
“So many of our families have been personally affected by cancer, or other life-limiting conditions, and none of us would be able to face the challenge without the support and care of the dedicated teams at our regional hospices.”
Lorraine Charlesworth, director of community and income at St Catherine’s Hospice, said: “We are committed to offering our specialist palliative and end-of-life care to local people, helping them to have quality of life to the end of life, as well as providing emotional and bereavement support to their loved ones. We simply couldn’t continue to do this without the wonderful support and generosity of our amazing communities, who help us raise a staggering £3.5million of our annual £5.2million annual running costs.”
“We are very grateful to the staff of Persimmon Homes for their pledge to help us this year, and look forward to hearing about all of their wonderful fundraising efforts and ideas, which will make a meaningful difference to the lives of our patients and families.”
The charity provides specialised, personalised services for adults facing conditions such as cancer, heart failure and motor neurone disease, delivered at the hospice, in the community or at the patient’s home.
