Save money every year at The Ivy
14 March 2014
Persimmon is encouraging homebuyers to buy one of their remaining properties at its Kilmarnock development in a bid to save more than £1,400 on energy bills.
Persimmon Homes West Scotland said today’s buyer needs to consider the cost savings associated with buying a newly-built home at The Ivy development as opposed to an older equivalent.
Ingrid Gahagan, sales director for Persimmon Homes West Scotland, said: “According to recent research by the NHBC (National Housing Building Council), those who live in new build homes built to today’s standards could save more than £1,400 a year on their energy bills when compared to neighbours in older homes.*
“The research indicates that a four-bedroom detached new home, like our Wexford, could be 57 per cent* cheaper to run than an updated Victorian equivalent. And our three-bedroom semi-detached Esk could be 53 per cent* cheaper to run than an older build of the same style.”
Persimmon Homes has predicted that with the £1,400 savings per year estimated by the NHBC, families could save approximately £35,000 over the lifetime of a 25 -year mortgage.
Ingrid added: “New homes offer enormous cost savings to households, both annually and over the lifetime of a mortgage.
“And while energy efficiency is only one of the advantages of buying a new build property, the potential to save such a large amount of money per year could mean the difference between buying a small home and your forever home.”
Ingrid goes on to talk about the affordable deals they have at The Ivy.
“With the aid of the Help to Buy (Scotland) scheme, prices on homes here are more affordable than ever. Buyers may be able to access a fixed rate mortgages for up to 5 years at just 3.69% so you can have the peace of mind that your monthly mortgage cost will stay minimal.
“In addition to this the mortgage lender is offering free valuations, £500 cash back and house hunters are exempt from paying any booking or arrangement fees.”
Located in a prominent hilltop setting, The Ivy has just two traditionally designed properties left to choose from including a three-bedroom semi-detached home and two four-bedroom detached properties all finished to the Persimmon Homes quality standard.
