A new homes development in East Sussex is giving first time buyers a real chance to get a foot on the housing ladder – and offering a lucrative investment for would-be landlords

Persimmon South East is building two, three, four and five bedroom apartments and houses at The Drive, Roebuck Park in Hellingly.

With two bedroom apartments starting at just £138,500, and a lovely location surrounded by parkland and semi-natural woodland, The Drive is highly attractive to first time buyers.

Head of Sales and Marketing Jo Richards said the new development offered something for everybody, with many plots ready to move into before Christmas.

The Beauport three bedroom home offers flexible family accommodation over three storeys, with a comfortable living room, dining kitchen, and a large master suite on the top floor, available for £237,500.

Jo said the competitively-priced development was also attracting interest from property investors because of the potential rental values of the homes.

“The rental market remains strong in this area and we are seeing an increase in enquiries from both established and first-time landlords.”

The Government’s Help To Buy scheme enables purchasers to secure their home with a five per cent deposit and an equity loan of up to 20 per cent of the property’s value, with a mortgage covering the remainder. The equity loan is interest free for five years and does not need to be repaid until the house is sold.
