Support for young homeless in Norwich

A homeless charity and community foodbank will benefit from a £1,000 donation from our Anglia region.
The regional management team selected Norwich Homeless Support to receive the funding through the Building Futures scheme, which supports organisations working with the under-18s.
Norwich Homeless Support spokesperson Eric Hewson said: “We will spend this funding on products that would benefit 16 to 18-year-olds who have come from sleeping on the streets to staying on our shelter bus.”
Over the years, the charity has successfully fundraised for and launched a ten-bed converted bus to get the homeless off the streets of Norwich, whilst also running weekly lunch feeds and a community food bank.
Michelle Baker, director in charge at Anglia, said: “Building Futures is all about supporting youth organisations in our area and the work of the Norwich Homeless Support is certainly worthy of our help.”
