Wessex hosts site visit for key stakeholders at new Valley Park site
25 July 2024

Our Wessex region has proudly hosted political leaders and officers from the Vale of White Horse District Council at our new Valley Park site.
Visitors included the Vale’s Council leader, Cllr Bethia Thomas, the Cabinet Member for Planning, Cllr Diana Lugova and Planning Committee Vice-Chair, Cllr Val Shaw.
The site is a key strategic development for the local authority, Persimmon, and our consortium partners. On outline, Valley Park has planning permission for 4,254 new homes and other key supporting infrastructure.
We have recently started construction on the first phase, which is set to deliver 179 zero-carbon-ready homes, with 60 homes designated for a local housing association.
The development of Valley Park will drive substantial local investment, with over £20 million allocated for two new primary schools, £9 million for secondary education, £15.2 million for road improvements, £3.6 million for public transport, and additional millions for a new healthcare facility.
Our second reserved matters application for 151 new homes by our sister brand, Charles Church, is currently under review by the local authority, alongside plans for the first new primary school on-site.
We look forward to the positive impact this collaboration will have for the community as we deliver quality homes for local people in Oxfordshire.
