Cheque Donated to Hope House

A Shropshire-based children’s hospice has secured a £5,000 donation from our West Midlands team, helping to support the hospice’s latest campaign, Quality Moments Matter.

Hope House received the funding boost as part of our Community Champions initiative. Hope House Children’s Hospices is a charity that gives every local child with a life-threatening condition and their family access to professional care and improves their quality of life from the point of diagnosis.

The Quality Moments Matter campaign aims to raise £400,000 to bring fun and joy to all local children suffering with a life-threatening condition. As part of this, the hospice will be holding a fundraising marathon on the 17th and 18th November to achieve this wider goal. Our funding will help to contribute to the wider target, supporting the hospice and its families to improve the quality of life of sick children.

The donation was marked by a visit from Lee Perry, Technical Director for Persimmon West Midlands and Cllr Dean Carroll, Portfolio Holder for Growth, Regeneration and Housing at Shropshire Council.

Cllr Dean Carroll, Portfolio Holder for Growth, Regeneration and Housing at Shropshire Council said: “It’s great to see major national companies supporting local good causes and I warmly welcome Persimmon’s support for Hope House.”

Dawn Ball, Area Fundraiser at Hope House, said: Dawn Ball, Area Fundraiser at Hope House, said: “We are so grateful to Persimmon Homes for signing up to be one of our generous Matchers. Several wonderful local companies like Persimmon have come together to form a matching pot of £200,000 for our Quality Moments Matter campaign.

“From the 17th to the 18th November, for just 36 hours, we will be inviting supporters from Shropshire, Cheshire and Wales to come together, donate and unlock that amazing £200,000 with a donation of their own, therefore every donation will be doubled, it’s amazing!”

Lee Perry, Technical Director at Persimmon Homes West Midlands, said: “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting impact in the communities that we build in. We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local charities to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them.”

“It’s an honour to be able to offer this £5,000 donation to Hope House’s Quality Moments Matter campaign which we hope will go some way to the wider fundraising target, helping sick children make memories with their loved ones.”
