West Midlands team offers cash boost to Stone Community Hub
06 December 2023
A community hub in Stone has received a £2,000 donation to help with its efforts in supporting the community with the cost of living, thanks to our West Midlands team.
Stone Community Hub received the donation as part of our Community Champions initiative. The funds will be used to pay for the running of its drop in café and food bank, where demand has more than doubled in the past year.
The Hub is an independent registered charity dedicated to improving the lives of residents in Stone and the surrounding villages by providing advice and support in times of need. Services that have seen recent high demand are requiring external funding to continue, and our donation will assist with this.
Jane Harding at Stone Community Hub, said "Stone Community Hub is delighted to receive £2,000 from Persimmon Homes to provide additional support in building our local community, preventing deprivation and isolation. The much-needed funding will achieve positive outcomes reducing negative impacts the cost-of-living crisis can have in these very uncertain times".
Dan Hassall, Managing Director at Persimmon Homes West Midlands, said “What we do is about much more than just building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities that we build in. We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local community groups to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them. It’s a delight to be able to offer this support to Stone Community Hub just in time for Christmas.”
