Persimmon Homes

Gorgeous Regency Cheltenham. The fabulous Cotswolds. A prime spot between Birmingham and and Bristol. This is the perfect setting for a new home, for family life, for leisure years and recreation, for commuting and for staying put. Cheltenham isn’t just a pretty face though, this historic spa town has a strong work ethic, from GCHQ and a range of light industries, through to a growing trend for design agencies and businesses. It feels like the place to be.

Very well-connected

Cheltenham is well-connected in more ways than one. Junction 10 of the M5 is to the north of the town and Junction 11 is to the south, where it intersects with the A40. The A40 is an extraordinary route, taking in some amazing countryside on its way from Oxford and across the Cotswolds to the east. To the west it just keeps on going all the way to the far west of Wales, via the Wye Valley and the Brecon Beacons. Closer to home it connects Cheltenham with its neighbouring town, Gloucester, just 8 miles away. The cross-country route to Oxford is around 40 miles, with some tempting places to stop off in en route. Bristol is 42 miles to the south, and Birmingham is 60 miles to the north. Cheltenham Spa railway station is on the Bristol to Birmingham main line, and services also link with Swindon, London Paddington, Cardiff Central and right the way down through the South West. Coach services for the town include routes to London and Heathrow Airport. Bristol Airport is just over 50 miles away, a drive time of around an hour.

Great amenities

This lovely town has a role as a regional shopping centre. It’s got down-to-earth shops and supermarkets, department stores, upmarket fashion and lifestyle boutiques, the modern indoor Regent Arcade, the Cheltenham Promenade, and the Montpellier Courtyard to choose from. As well as the famous Cheltenham Ladies’ College, there are six state secondary schools, Gloucester College of Further Education has a base in the town, and the University of Gloucester has a presence here too, with two of its campuses here.

Great fun

The Brewery Quarter is a leisure venue for family entertainment and eating-out. The Sandford Parks Lido has a heated outdoor swimming pool, and the Montpellier Gardens are the place to go for summertime concerts. This is the place to be if you wan to go to the races. Cheltenham Racecourse is a prized venue in the world of horse racing. There are music festivals, arts festivals, literature and science festivals in this buzzing town. If you can tear yourself away, you’ve got the glorious countryside and picture-perfect villages of the Cotswolds right on your doorstep, with Broadway to the north, Bourton-on-the-Water to the east, and Cirencester to the south.
