Persimmon has agreed a sponsorship deal with a high-flying motocross team in Merthyr.

We have thrown our support behind MXC Racing for the 2022 season with a £1,000 gift.

The money comes through our Community Champions scheme. Each month we donate up to £64,000 to good causes across Britain, including up to £4,000 to groups in Wales.

MXC Racing has two 125cc riders in the British Motocross Championship and European Motocross Championship.

Bailey Johnston is the current MXY2 125cc British Champion, while Kasimir Hindersson is the current Finland MX125cc Champion.

The club said the money would help with its running costs through the year.

Jonathan Powell, of MXC Racing, said: “We’re very grateful to Persimmon Homes for their tremendous support.

“This funding will support our team and our talented riders and they push for silverware in the 2022 season.

“It’s great to see a company like Persimmon supporting local sport like this.”

Victoria Williams, Sales Director at East Wales, said: “We’re pleased to be able to support MXC Racing with this donation through Community Champions.

“We know that sponsorships and funding can be hard to come by for grassroots teams so we’re pleased to be able to play our part.

“It’s part of our commitment to playing an active and meaningful role in the communities in which we are building.”

Persimmon is preparing to launch its Carn Y Cefn development of two, three and four-bedroom homes located on the southern reaches of Ebbw Vale.
